Una vecchia stazione di servizio in disuso che si trasforma in un cinema pop-up per un'intera stagione. Un progetto realizzato a Londra (Clerkwell) grazie all'iniziativa di un gruppo di giovani architetti e designer. The Cineroleum è stato completamente autocostruito dagli stessi ideatori del progetto e da qualche volenteroso che si è unito durante la costruzione.

Anche le sedie sono state totalmente autocostruite utilizzando materiale di scarto e di riciclo. Le sedute sono state realizzate con assi da ponteggio recuperate dai cantieri.

Uno spazio pop-up che sorge temporaneamente tra gli edifici e che recupara  uno spazio abbandonato donandogli una nuova funzione di aggregazione per la comunità.

Le potenzialità inespresse degli spazi urbani e la loro valorizzazione attraverso un'idea chiara e intelligentemente realizzata sono alla base del successo di questa iniziativa. La dimostrazione che per cambiare e migliorare la vita nelle nostre città più che grandi interventi ed enormi investimenti servono una nuova mentalità, in grado di ripensare gli spazi esistenti, e la realizzazione di progetti che realmente possano coinvolgere le persone dandogli nuovi modi di vivere la città.

My Lane is a very simple system dedicated either to beginner and addicted runners: people who lives far away from their workplace, who desire to get outside and exercise at mid-day during their 9-5 job and who have no place where to shower or change before & after a jog. For all these people MyLane project aims to provide a series of quality, modular changing/shower stations.

A couple of days ago the second Global Design Jam was over.

This time we had the opportunity to work with the Scuola di Design of the Politecnico di Milano, which gave at disposition of all Milanese jammers the whole N building in Bovisa.

We started by meeting each others and introducing our personal design experiences. Then Gabriela Nuri Baron gave a welcome lecture on the issues of sustainability (which resulted to be among the most appreciated presentations on Slideshare this weekend).

The whole jam was a great experience, which involved 30 designers (mostly from the PSSD Family) who had to face this edition's challenge centered in "PLAYGROUNDS".

Riciclare è assolutamente necessario e .... moralmente corretto, ma oltre ad essere l'ennesima

Attraverso un sistema di monitoraggio della raccolta differenziata, le persone possono verificare il proprio impegno e confrontarlo con quello degli altri iscritti. Inoltre più si ricicla e più si raccolgono punti che danno diritto a premi messi a disposizione di aziende impegnate in politiche verdi.

Il termine gamification indica l'applicazione nella realtà quotidiana di meccaniche e dinamiche tipiche dei videogiochi per rendere meno gravosi gli impegni di tutti i giorni.

La cosa è particolarmente interessante e indica come il convincimento morale spesso da solo non basta a portare le persone ad avere comportamenti virtuosi. Qusta tecnica nata dall'osservazione delle persone e dei loro comportamenti può farci sentire nello stesso momento virtuosi e divertiti.

Researchers at the school of physics and astronomy at Tel-Aviv University created a track around which a semi-conductor can float, thanks to the phenomenon of "quantum levitation".  When a material is in its superconducting state - which involves very low temperatures - it is strongly diamagnetic. This means that when a magnetic field is externally applied, it will create an equally-opposing magnetic field, locking it in place.

The object in the video it's a puck of yttrium barium copper oxide cooled by liquid nitrogen which is repelling the magnets embedded on the handheld device. It also shows that the angle of the magnet can be locked in a magnetic field.
